CALL FOR PAPERS:Forthcoming Special Issue on Regulation of Autonomic Nervous System
Potential topics include, but are not limited to:
● The autonomic nervous system: structure, function and development
● Physiological mechanism and signal pathway of regulation of the autonomic nervous system
● Neural mechanisms in regulating autonomic function of the cardiovascular system, respiratory system and gastrointestinal system
● Pathophysiological and toxicological mechanisms and signal pathways of the autonomic nervous system
● Neural mechanisms regulating autonomic dysfunction in the cardiovascular system such as cardiac arrhythmias, sudden cardiac death, neurogenic hypertension, and congestive heart failure
● Neural mechanisms regulating autonomic dysfunction in the respiratory system such as hypoxia and sleep apnea
● Neural mechanisms regulating autonomic dysfunction in metabolic disorders including type II diabetes and obesity.
● Dysautonomia related to neural plasticity in response to external environmental changes such as stress and traumatic brain injury, hormonal and/or neurotransmitter imbalances leading to autonomic dysfunction
● Clinical research and therapeutic approaches for neuropathies affecting the autonomic nervous system
